Participants must abide by the following for the hackathon:
Eligibility: Start-ups, research organizations, academic institutes, corporations, non-profit organizations, or other groups who are interested in R&D for solving the industry problems may participate. It is requested to go through the detailed eligibility criteria before proceeding
Objective: Providing sustainable solutions on the problem statement which is best fitted for the Hackathon.
Registration: Registrations close on 30th April, 2024 9.00 PM IST.
Duration: For submission of proposal 1 month time is set starting from 1st April 2024 to 30th April, 2024. During this period, participants can register and interact with the mentors to submit the best suited proposal required for industry.
Solution to the entire problem statement: Participants need to work on the entire problem statement & not to a part of the problem. Anyone can view the problem statement by clicking on themes. Solution of entire problem statement will only be considered.
Submission of proposal: Once the challenge starts, participants will get an option to submit proposal. Participants can submit as many times as they want, the last proposal will be considered as the final submission.
Innovative idea: Participants are expected to come up with novel and innovative ideas. Any idea that has been copied from somewhere will be disqualified.
Participation: By participating in the challenge, participants will agree to the terms and conditions of Hackathon on coal Gasification.
Selection Criteria: Maximum 10 proposals on each problem statement will be selected for presentation based on the Selection criteria. Decision of Mentor/evaluator regarding selection of proposal for presentation will be treated as final.
Deliverables: It is desirable to deliver an AI/ML/IoT based technological solution, 3D demonstration, a business plan which can benefit the industry relevant to the selected problem statement. The solution should be innovative, feasible and should have impact on the industry. Details should be as per evaluation criteria.
Presentation for Hackathon: After closing of the proposal submission timeline, separate slot will be provided for presentation on the selected proposals on each problem statement. It is to be done online. Participants have to choose preferred slot as per their convenience & availability. Maximum 10 proposals on each problem statement will be selected for presentation. If any participants shall not be able to present his proposal, next participant from the panel shall be allowed to enter in the Hackathon.
Evaluation Criteria: Criteria for evaluating the participants' deliverables after submission of the proposal is to be looked into by judges, which is provided separately. The decision of Judges will be treated final and no participants can challenge the decision of the judges.

Code of Conduct: Participants should not use certain technologies or resources which are declared ban by any authority /other organization. Participants must have respectful behavior and avoid plagiarism, and intellectual property of others. Participants shall follow all the relevant rules/guidelines of Govt. of India.
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): Ownership of the code, data and any other intellectual property developed during the Hackathon will be lies with the participants. However, after completion of the Hackathon and after completion of R&D project funded by Ministry of Coal (MoC) / Coal India Limited (CIL), the provisions stated in the ‘Guidelines for research projects of Ministry of Coal’ (https://scienceandtech.cmpdi.co.in ) related to IPR & others shall be strictly adhered to.
Liability: Organizers will not be liable in case of any damage, loss, or injury to the participants during the process of Hackathon.
Conflict of Interest: In case any type of conflict of interest arises, the organizing committee is empowered to take final decision and that will be acceptable to all the participants.
Withdrawal: Withdrawal is not permitted after submission of proposal. If shortlisted, the participants must give presentation on the submitted proposal and adhere the rules, terms & conditions of the Hackathon.
Dispute: In case of any dispute arises, the decision of the organizing committee will be treated as final.

In case of proposal submitted in collaboration, Prize money will be given to a single entity in whose name the registration has been done.
